What are cookies?
Cookies are little text files that the sites visited send to the user’s computer, where they are stored to be retransmitted to the same sites at the user’s next visit.
Some of these cookies are necessary for the correct functioning of the Site while others are useful because they enable the operation of several services.
There are different types of cookies.
Types of cookies
Technical cookies
Technical cookies are those used for the sole purpose of “executing the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network and to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service to deliver a service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user “.
They are not used for other purposes and are normally installed directly by the owner of the Website or by the Webmaster.
They can be divided into the following:
- browsing or session cookies enable normal browsing activities and the use of the website (allowing, for example, to make a purchase or authenticate access to restricted areas); they are actually necessary for the correct functioning of the Site;
- cookies analytics are assimilated to technical cookies when used directly by the Webmaster to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the Site, with a view to improving site performance;
- functionality cookies allow the user to perform browsing activities according to a series of selected criteria (for example, the language) in order to improve the service rendered thereto. Users are not required to give their consent for the installation of these cookies (more information is provided in the ‘Managing cookies’ section below).
- Profiling cookies are aimed at creating user profiles and are used to transmit advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by users in their browsing activity.
Users are required to give their consent to the installation of profiling cookies and are always free to authorize or deny their consent to the installation of profiling cookies.
– First-party and third-party cookies
Cookies can be defined as first- or third-party, whereby “first party” cookies are directly stored by the domain (website) you are visiting while third party cookies are created by domains other than the one you are visiting directly, hence the name third-party.
Third party cookies are necessarily installed by a “third party” and are not managed or controlled by the Site, which means that they can neither be directly installed or deleted by the Website.
Cookies installed on this Site
This Site uses cookies needed to recall the users’ screen resolution and consequently adjust the Site settings to improve its usability.

Duration of the cookies
The duration of the cookies present on the Site is indicated in the expiry section of the above table.
Users can revoke their consent to the use of cookies at any given point in time by following the instructions outlined below.
Managing cookies
Users can deny their consent relating to the use of cookies made by this Site at any given point in time directly from this link (set as clickable and embedded in the dedicated banner).
This could limit some of the functions on the Site.
Once cookies are accepted, the consent banner could not appear at later accesses.
Roma Congressi S.r.l. will keep an appropriate record of the Users’ consent through a specific technical cookie, considered to be “not particularly invasive” by the Personal Data Protection Authority.
If Users have given their consent but want to change it, they must cancel it through the browser, as indicated below, because otherwise the cookies already installed will not be removed. In particular, keep in mind that it is not possible to control third-party cookies in any way, therefore if consent has already been given, it is necessary to proceed with the cancellation of cookies through the browser (dedicated section) or by requesting the opting-out option directly to third parties or through the following website: http://www.youronlinechoices.com/it/le-tue-scelte.
